New member, Frank Rothmann, was unanimously approved and welcomed to the club. Existing club members are encouraged to introduce themselves as soon as possible.
Rudy Kellerman volunteered to maintain the Club’s web site.
A motion was made and seconded to approve the previously distributed minutes of the February 1, 2007 meeting.
Neal McGrath reported that he had not been able to contact, Robert Carrol, of Anderson County to discuss the possible use of County land as a future flying site but agreed to keep trying. Neal also agreed to contact Anderson Mall and Anderson Station to discuss having our Mall Show at one of the sites in April.
Eric Walker indicated that the previously discussed amendments to the bylaws will be distributed for approval before the next meeting.
Eric Walker reported that the planned trip to Lanier would not take place as Lanier’s manufacturing has been moved to the Far East.
Neal McGrath reviewed the monthly and annual financial statements for the month of February and year-to-date. A motion was made and seconded to approve the financial statements as presented.
It was agreed that we would set a date before the next meeting to do maintenance on the runway. Please look for an email with details to follow.
It was agreed that an updated roster would be distributed before the next meeting.
It was agreed that the Club’s annual Fly-in would take place on May 5, 2007 and that there would be no charge for lunch. Jim Hauck agreed to organize the fly-in.
A discussion was held regarding the need to provide a subscription to Model Aviation to a school in order to achieve Gold status for the Club. It was agreed that we would provide a subscription to West Side High School. Leonard Shinall agreed to contact the school to obtain approval. The possibility of doing other things with the school (i.e., demonstrations and/or classes) was also discussed. It was concluded that we would wait to gauge the level of interest before proposing other activities with the School.
Club member Anthony ? has a Four-Star 60 ARF for sale for $160. If you are interested, you should contact Anthony directly.
Dues for 2007 are now past due. Dues for existing members are $30 and can be remitted to Neal McGrath at the following address:
